States Governors, Congress and private sectors are working diligently.
Vice President Pence reported this morning that there is a lot of discussion with industry leaders across the country. People and businesses are coming together to halt the progression of the coronavirus outbreak.
He praised the work of all governors across the nation for taking strong measures. In a discussion with all of them, he reassured them that the governors are “in charge” with the federal government as their assistants.
The economic recovery package at the Hill should be acted upon early next week.
Testing is progressing as more and more Americans are being tested every day. State-based testing efforts are being expanded every hour.
Supplies of personal protective equipment needed by medical personnel are being sought and some industries in America are stepping up to provide alternatives and are setting themselves up to manufacture items needed.
They are finding ventilators that can be retrofitted.
Again, he urged Americans to put off elective surgeries or medical treatments, in order to free up the medical community to care for coronavirus patients.
“The greatness of the American character is shining forth,” the vice president said.
