California Governor Issues Statewide Stay-at-Home

40 million people are on lockdown.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered all residents of California to stay home.  He made his announcement Thursday evening.

Earlier in the day, health officials there projected 56 percent of residents will be infected with the coronavirus in just 8 weeks.

The governor asked that the U.S Navy’s Mercy Hospital Ship be stationed at the port of Los Angeles. Defense officials say the ship will head to the Seattle area in the next five to ten days. Newsom said the hospital ship “will help decompress the health care system to allow the Los Angeles region to ensure that it has the ability to address critical acute care needs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the people of California who will now face a mandatory stay-at-home status.
  • For Governor Newsom and his health officials and others as they take steps to combat a wider spread of the coronavirus.
  • For the officials with the U.S. Navy in charge of scheduling both the Mercy and the Comfort hospital ships to west and east coasts, respectively.
