Increase in Coronavirus Test Availability

Critical large-scale testing is beginning to be implemented.

At the end of last week, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony S. Fauci said that “The system is not really geared to what we need right now.” Due to the rapid adjustments and measures taken by the federal government, he said during Sunday’s Coronavirus Task Force briefing, “I’m very pleased to see how things have evolved. I think we could describe this as entering into a new phase in the testing space available here in the United States.”

Dr. Fauci and other outbreak experts at the National Institute of health are communally concerned with the high likelihood of under-representation with the lack of testing. “I expect there are more infected individuals now,” said Dr. Jonathan Braun, a researcher at the Institute. “This means that the level of disease in the U.S. is much greater than has been reported by actual testing.” White House Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response Coordinator Deborah L. Birx urged American’s to be prepared to see a spike in the number of reported cases but said that those numbers will likely be an adjustment to account for those that were previously undiagnosed.

During the White House briefing, Dr. Fauci added, “I’ve said many times, and I’ll repeat it: The worst is, yes, ahead for us. It is how we respond to that challenge that’s going to determine what the ultimate endpoint is going to be.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he and his advisors seek to care for citizens during the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • For doctors and healthcare providers as they do their part to implement outbreak prevention.
  • That the Lord would bring physical healing to all his children.
