In His Hand

In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and give strength to all. – 1 Chronicles 29:12

Looking at the images from the Hubble telescope, a person can feel like a mere amoeba compared to the vastness of the universe. David, perhaps while tending his sheep, looked out at the moon and stars and had similar thoughts, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the sons of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:4). In other words, why even pay an attention to a tiny human, when Heaven is Your throne and earth is Your footstool? (Isaiah 66:1).

The good news is that He does pay attention to mere humans. He loves people so much He redeemed them or bought them back from sin through the blood of His precious Son (John 3:16). He loves you (1 John 4:9). He hears you. (1 Peter 3:12) He answers your prayers (Matthew 7:8). Paul says God perfects strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). He also says that God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).

If you ever feel overwhelmed or miniscule compared to evils of the world, problems, or even just living from day to day, know that, as it says in today’s verse, it is in His hand to make great and give strength to all. A preacher once said, “All means all and that’s all all means.” The Father’s wonderful strength is available to make you great and give you strength. Seek and serve Him with gladness. Pray for greatness and strength for the United States of America. All good things come from Him.

Today’s Verse: 1 Chronicles 28:12

Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
