An unsealed indictment from New York U.S. attorney accuses Volodymyr Tymoshchuk of several ransomware schemes.
The State Department recently revealed an indictment against alleged Ukrainian hacker Volodymyr Viktorovych Tymoshchuk and offered up to $11 million for information leading to his arrest.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella, Jr., released a statement from his office for the Eastern District of New York, saying that the Ukrainian organized a number of large-scale ransomware schemes across the globe, even using his skills to avoid detection and arrest.
“For a time, the defendant stayed ahead of law enforcement by deploying new strains of malicious software when his old ones were decrypted. Today’s charges reflect international coordination to unmask and charge a dangerous and pervasive ransomware actor who can no longer remain anonymous,” Attorney Nocella stated.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secertary Rubio to be led by the Lord as he heads the State Department and fulfills roles as acting head of other agencies.
- For U.S. Attorney Nocella to seek God’s direction as he pursues information on the Ukrainian hacker.
