Pentagon Warns Venezuela After Two F-16 Jets Fly Over U.S. Navy Destroyer

Tensions have heightened in the Caribbean after the U.S. strike on a Venezuelan drug boat.

The Pentagon denounced the fly-by of two Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets over a U.S. Navy destroyer in the south Caribbean on Thursday. The United States conducted a missile strike against a drug ship earlier this week that had launched from the South American nation and has stationed eight Navy vessels in the region.

The Pentagon stated, “Two Maduro regime military aircraft flew near a U.S. Navy vessel in international waters.“

The department added, “This highly provocative move was designed to interfere with our counter narco-terror operations. The cartel running Venezuela is strongly advised not to pursue any further effort to obstruct, deter, or interfere with counter-narcotics and counter-terror operations carried out by the U.S. military.”

President Donald Trump has been addressing the drug trafficking out of Venezuela since the start of his second term, deporting members and associates of the Venezuela-based gang Tren de Aragua.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to receive God’s wisdom as he addresses the drug cartels and narcotics trafficking.
  • For protection for U.S. military personnel as they serve in the Caribbean to combat drug trafficking shipments.
