President Donald Trump’s federal emergency crime order for Washington, D.C., expires today.

Due to District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser’s invitation for the National Guard to remain indefinitely to support law enforcement in the nation’s capital, the Senate and House of Representatives will not be holding votes on legislation to officially extend federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department.
President Trump has proposed sending the National Guard into other cities, recently discussing whether to provide federal law enforcement assistance to New Orleans, Louisiana, or Chicago, Illinois, next.
The president also responded to the recently reported murder of a Ukrainian refugee on a light rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina, last month. President Trump stated, “The perpetrator was a well known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES.“ The president questioned why the man was “riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to seek the Lord’s direction in all his policies and decisions.
- For the leaders and members of Congress to be prudent in their consideration of legislation and appropriations.
- For wisdom for the governors and mayors who are evaluating measures to increase urban law enforcement and reduce violent crime.
