Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. – Isaiah 48:18
What do the words “flowing, abundant, and peaceful“ bring to mind? Do you connect them with God’s design for your life? As you navigate the day-to-day realities of living, it may be difficult to maintain your awareness of the greater and higher calling of your Creator.
You became heir to a blissful, eternal life the moment you placed your faith in His hands. Through His Living Spirit, the Lord desires to share daily life with you, helping and directing you. The challenge comes when He leads in a way you would not naturally go. The choice to heed His leadership is yours.
The Lord encourages you to love and serve the people around you. However, you need His assistance to be kind and caring toward others, particularly those who are complicated or contentious. God also instructs you to read His word and learn so you can be confident in discerning His will. It is up to you to carve time out of your busy day to quiet your heart, study, and pray. There is abundant grace available to you when you fail, but the Bible clearly shows that God’s highest and best outcomes are the result of nurturing your relationship with Him.
Ask the Lord today to help you understand and follow His direction in your life. As candidates announce their bids for office in the coming election cycle, pray for wisdom for American voters to choose governing officials who have a desire for God’s guidance.

5 For each will have to bear his own load.
6 Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. 7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
