The notice of funding is in keeping with President Trump’s executive orders on energy development.
The Department of Energy (DOE) issued a notice of funding opportunities worth a total of $1 billion to support critical mineral mining and processing in the United States. This decision was made in keeping with one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, the “Unleashing American Energy” order signed on April 8.
“For too long, the United States has relied on foreign actors to supply and process the critical materials that are essential to modern life and our national security,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said.
“The Energy Department will play a leading role in reshoring the processing of critical materials and expanding our domestic supply of these indispensable resources,” Secretary Wright said.
