State Department Opens Investigation into Harvard Student Visa Program

Secretary Rubio says the review is to ensure the program aligns with the nation’s interests.

The State Department announced this week that it is opening an investigation into Harvard University’s participation in the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.

“The investigation will ensure that State Department programs do not run contrary to our nation’s interests,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated. The administration’s concerns include compliance with federal regulations, protection of national security, and adherence with foreign policy.

The State Department moved to revoke Harvard’s participation in the U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program in May, but was blocked by Judge Allison Burroughs. President Trump’s administration has called on Harvard to ensure the safety of students during protests and revoke diversity, equity, and inclusivity initiatives.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rubio as he endeavors to ensure colleges and universities adhere to federal regulations and national security policies.
  • For State Department officials as they conduct reviews and investigations into the administration of the Student and Visitor Exchange Program.
