President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Kier Starmer today in Scotland. The two heads of state will discuss refinements to the trade agreement that was made in May.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is in Stockholm, Sweden, today to meet with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng to discuss trade.

The treasury secretary said, “I think we’ve actually moved to a new level with China, where it’s very constructive and… we’re going to be able to get a lot of things done now that trade has kind of settled in at a good level.”

Secretary Bessent said he anticipates negotiating an extension of the pause on the exorbitant tariffs that were placed in the spring by both nations and discussing a reduction in the massive amount of manufacturing and exports by China. He affirmed, “Hopefully, we can see the Chinese pull back on some of this glut of manufacturing that they’re doing and concentrate on building a consumer economy.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Trump as he discusses refinements to the U.S./UK trade agreement.
  • For Secretary Bessent to be discerning as he negotiates with his Chinese counterpart in Stockholm.
  • For Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Michael Rigas as he concludes travel to South Korea and the Philippines.
