Pentagon Recalls 2,000 National Guard Troops from Duty in L.A.

The Defense Department thanks the troops and states the lawlessness is subsiding in the city.

The Department of Defense announced that much of the California National Guard is being released from duty in Los Angeles after being deployed for over a month. Around 4,000 California National Guard troops and 700 Marines were mobilized by President Donald Trump after violence broke out during protests over federal immigration enforcement operations.

“Thanks to our troops who stepped up to answer the call, the lawlessness in Los Angeles is subsiding,” Pentagon Chief Spokesperson Sean Parnell said Tuesday. “As such, the Secretary has ordered the release of 2,000 California National Guardsmen (79th IBCT) from the federal protection mission.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be led by the Lord as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • With gratitude for the service of members of the National Guard and the U.S. military.
  • For the safety of U.S. troops serving on active duty around the world.
