Daniel Driscoll
Secretary of the Army
Daniel Patrick Driscoll is a native of North Carolina. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He received his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School. He served in the U.S. Army as an armor officer and earned a Ranger tab through the U.S. Army Ranger School.
After his military service, Driscoll interned for the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee during law school. He worked in investment banking in North Carolina and became Chief Operating Officer of a venture capital fund.
President Donald Trump nominated Driscoll to serve as the Secretary of the Army in December 2024. He was confirmed by the Senate and assumed the role in February 2025.
Driscoll is married to Cassie, and they have two children.

The U.S. Army is seeking to support the nation’s stockpile by acquiring 233 PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors in fiscal year 2026. This would scale up procurement in support of active theaters.
After an assessment of the nation’s stockpiles, the service branch has increased its goals for procuring munitions to support military readiness.
Lockheed Martin recently announced a critical flight test mission on the evolving capability of the PAC-3 MSE. The missiles have been combat proven against hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles through direct contact and kinetic energy.
The acquisition of the interceptors incorporates discretionary funding as well as congressional allotments.
