DOJ Sues Federal Judges for Standing Order Against Deportation

The administration received a favorable ruling from the Supreme Court on deportation to third-party nations.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against all 15 federal judges in Maryland who implemented a standing order to stop President Trump’s administration from deporting immigrants who want to challenge their removal.

The standing order, originally issued by District Chief Judge George Russell, required the administration to enact an automatic two-business-day stay on all deportations to ensure that immigrants have the time necessary to legally challenge being deported. After the Supreme Court ruled on Monday, to uphold the administration’s action to deport immigrants to third-party countries, the Justice Department filed this lawsuit arguing that this Supreme Court ruling should overturn the standing order.

“The Justice Department is challenging the order by accusing the district court of defying procedural and substantive requirements for issuing preliminary injunctions, while flouting congressional intent and violating Supreme Court precedent,” the filing stated. “This lawsuit involves yet another regrettable example of the unlawful use of equitable powers to restrain the Executive.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Attorney General Pam Bondi to be led by the Lord as she heads the Justice Department.
  • For President Trump and administration officials as they seek to remove criminal illegal aliens from the U.S.
