The House Rules Committee takes up the “Big Beautiful Bill” today after Vice President JD Vance broke the 50-50 tie in the Senate to pass the legislation.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said that, since he intends to honor the customary 72-hour window for members of Congress to review the legislation text, the bill may not make the July 4th deadline set by President Donald Trump.
Speaker Johnson called the legislation “jet fuel” for the nation’s economy: “It makes the Trump tax cuts permanent, eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, provides tax relief for seniors, and slashes regulations to spur job creation and economic growth.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chairwoman Virginia Foxx and members of the House Rules Committee as they review the amendments to the bill made in the Senate.
- For Speaker Johnson to be prudent in his management of the voting timeline and consideration of the bill.
- For discernment for President Trump, Vice President Vance, and members of the Cabinet as they implement the president’s policies and agenda.
