FDA Reviewing Studies that Send Biological Data Abroad

The agency says some clinical trials send sensitive material to China without tester’s consent.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a review of clinical trials that sent living samples from American citizens to labs in China and other countries. The FDA said that these samples were sometimes distributed without the knowledge and consent of U.S. patients, adding that they would ensure that “research funding flows only to secure, transparent, and U.S.-compliant institutions.”

“The previous administration turned a blind eye and allowed American DNA to be sent abroad — often without the knowledge or understanding of trial participants,” said FDA Commissioner Marty Makary. “The integrity of our biomedical research enterprise is paramount. We are taking action to protect patients, restore public trust, and safeguard U.S. biomedical leadership.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Commissioner Makary to be led by the Lord as he seeks to stop Americans’ biological information being sent to foreign nations.
  • For Secretary Kennedy to be discerning as he manages the Department of Health and Human Services.
