The funding will help prevent eviction, resolve legal issues, and improve access to benefits for vulnerable veterans.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is offering $42 million in grants to fund legal services for veterans who are homeless or facing housing instability. The department will accept applications from eligible organizations until July 7. The funding will award up to $500,000 to fund legal services from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027.
The department is providing these grants in areas that directly impact housing stability and access to benefits, including eviction prevention, child support and custody cases, estate planning, disability claims, and resolving legal issues like outstanding warrants or license suspensions.
“Services to help Veterans obtain benefits, maintain access to housing and navigate other common legal issues can make a huge difference in preventing or resolving homelessness,” said VA Secretary Doug Collins. “These important grants will help us make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of Veterans.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Collins as he oversees the grant program to provide legal services for housing insecure veterans.
- For VA Department officials as they work to prevent homelessness in the veteran community.
