Wednesday, June 18

Today, the Federal Reserve Board is concluding its June meeting. The Federal Open Market Committee is not expected to make any changes to the current interest rate despite the steady U.S. economy and unemployment rate as well as decreased inflation.

The Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines, and Safety, chaired by Senator Todd Young of Indiana, is holding to examine modernizing America’s rail network.

Other Senate committees are holding confirmation hearings and hearings to evaluate the 2026 Fiscal Year budget requests from the Departments of Energy and Defense.

In the wake of the assassin shooting legislators in Minnesota, the Capitol Police have closed the Senate plaza to the public while the Senate is in session this week.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chairman Jerome Powell to seek God’s guidance as he presides over the Federal Reserve.
  • For Majority Leader Thune and Minority Leader Schumer to be discerning as they oversee Senate business.
  • For wisdom for President Trump, his advisors, and members of his Cabinet as they monitor and respond to the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
