He signed a proclamation developed by the attorney general, Homeland Security secretary, and director of national intelligence.
President Donald Trump signed a proclamation effectively banning travelers from 12 countries and partially restricting nationals from seven other countries. The list was developed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who reported that these nations do not adequately enforce screening and vetting of citizens traveling outside their borders.
President Trump added in the proclamation that nationals from some of the countries “also pose significant risks of overstaying their visas in the United States,” which “increases burdens on immigration and law enforcement components of the United States, and often exacerbates other risks related to national security and public safety.”
The twelve countries fully restricted from traveling to the United States are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
The seven countries partially restricted from travel are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s direction as he seeks to improve national security and public safety.
- For Attorney General Bondi to be discerning as she heads the Justice Department.
- For DNI Gabbard to be led by the Lord as she oversees the U.S. intelligence community.
- For Secretary Noem to be prudent in her management of the Department of Homeland Security.
