Today, President Trump is welcoming German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to the White House. The president will discuss the war in Ukraine and potential sanctions on Russia, NATO defense investments, and trade with the chancellor.

Senate committees are considering the president’s nominees for positions in the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, Commerce, Education, and Labor. Other hearings will be held regarding the Defense Authorization for 2026, supply chain modernization, quantum information science, and accountability and transparency in the tech community.

House committees and subcommittees are holding meetings and hearings on artificial intelligence, military programs, supply chain and small business concerns, and to consider fiscal year 2026 requests.
