The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of the Interior are collaborating on the potential increase of affordable housing opportunities through the development of underutilized federal land.

HUD Secretary Scott Turner and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum recently met with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, Representative Mark Amodei, and Bureau of Land Management officials on how to address developmental barriers and provide greater flexibility to expedite federal land transfers for residential development.

“The need for more affordable housing in our country requires new partnerships and bold, creative thinking to make the American Dream of homeownership a reality for more individuals and families,” said Secretary Turner. “Together, we will reduce layers of bureaucracy, unleash American ingenuity, and create more homeownership opportunities in communities across our great nation.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretaries Turner and Burgum as they collaborate on the development of affordable housing on federal lands.
  • For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to improve the economy, employment, and housing opportunities.
  • For wisdom for state governors as they discuss potential projects with federal officials.
