Judge Rules Administration Can Deport Members of Terrorist Groups

She just requires that appropriate notice be given to deportees.

District Judge Stephanie Haines ruled that President Trump’s administration has the authority to deport members of Tren de Aragua as members of a foreign terrorist organization. However, she stated deportees must be given adequate notice before being removed from the country.

Judge Haines issued a 43-page ruling, where she emphasized her “unflagging obligation is to apply the law as written.” She said that the question she was called to answer in this case was whether or not President Trump’s administration adequately informed illegal immigrants of their eligibility for deportation before their sudden removal from the country. Judge Haines ruled that the administration had not complied with the law in that regard.

“Having done its job, the Court now leaves it to the Political Branches of the government, and ultimately to the people who elect those individuals, to decide whether the laws and those executing them continue to reflect their will,” Judge Haines wrote.

Other district judges have ruled the president’s administration cannot deport criminal illegal aliens in their jurisdictions under the Alien Enemies Act.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for federal judges as they hear and rule on the actions of President Trump’s administration.
  • For wisdom for the president and officials in his Cabinet as they seek to enforce immigration laws and deport criminal illegal aliens.
