Congress is conducting an investigation into potential fraud and illegal activity in political fundraising.
The House Committees on Oversight, Judiciary, and Administration sent letters to two contractors who previously worked for the fundraising organization ActBlue on Wednesday, calling for them to testify before Congress.
“The Committees are concerned that ActBlue has maintained poor anti-fraud practices that may have allowed bad actors to make fraudulent political donations, including from foreign sources,” wrote Oversight Chair James Comer, Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, and Administration Chair Bryan Steil.
The two contractors work for the software firm Sift, which uses AI-powered fraud prevention technologies to identify potentially suspicious transactions. The letters were addressed to Sift’s director of customer success and senior customer success manager.
Several senior officials resigned from ActBlue in February.
President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate “illegal ‘straw donor’ and foreign contributions in American elections.” The president has pledged to make U.S. elections “secure once and for all.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to ensure federal election laws are upheld.
