President Donald Trump designated today as a day of celebration for the victory in the Second World War. The president declared in his proclamation, “As we commemorate Victory Day for World War II, we offer our unending thanks to every patriot from the Greatest Generation who left behind his home and family to fight for our freedom in distant lands.”

President Trump continued, “We honor the memories of all those who perished. Above all, we renew our commitment to keeping America and the entire world safe, secure, prosperous, and free.”

The House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Cyber, Information Technologies, and Innovation, chaired by Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, is holding a hearing on the Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Posture of the Department of Defense.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, chaired by Representative Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida, will hear testimony on America’s agenda for democracy and human rights.

Senate committees and subcommittees are holding confirmation hearings for President Donald Trump’s nominees to various federal roles as well as budget hearings for government departments’ 2026 fiscal year requests.
