ComEd Admits to Bribery During Federal Investigation

The utility company agrees to pay $200M to resolve the issue.

The U.S. Attorney’s released a statement that the electric utility provider ComEd admitted to providing full-time jobs and part-time contracts to individuals connected to “Public Official A” from 2011 to 2019. The contracts often did not include any work to be done or actual projects but were instead given as political favors. The company is slated to pay $200 million in the wake of a recent federal investigation.

In a separate news release, and following federal subpoenas, “Public Official A” was confirmed to refer to Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan. The large payment points to credible evidence against both ComEd and Madigan. U.S. Attorney John Lausch said the investigation will continue until the matter is fully resolved.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the U.S. Attorney’s Office as they work to uphold justice and address any government corruption.
  • For the FBI as the lead the investigation and that the truth would be made clear through them.
  • That God’s will would be accomplished through federal and state governments.
