What’s Going On?

Psalm 138:8 – The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.

Isn’t this just how life is? Things are moving along pretty well, nothing is rocking the boat, and then—wham!—out of no where comes a problem. You look around, and then you ask “What’s going on?” It is a reasonable question.

Does it seem to you that’s how things were when America got hit by the coronavirus? Perhaps it seems that way. But underneath it all, America was filled with a current of division and mistrust, deception and slander. It may  have been couched in nice words, but it was not hidden from God.  Proverbs 10:18 says, “The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.”

God’s plan and purpose for you is to live righteously. He desires that you live above that ugly undercurrent. “Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame” (1 Peter 3:16).

Do not engage in slanderous words toward anyone; be careful with your words. Live above the fray. Then stand back and watch how God is working through all of the life disruptions. He may ultimately reveal to you what really is going on.

Pray With Us

Precious Lord, I trust You. Your Word tells me often that You have plans for me. While it is difficult to accept that going through this coronavirus and all that entails is part of that plan, I am looking deeply to discern Your purpose. Nothing escapes Your will for my life. Keep me steadfast in Your love which endures forever, regardless of what today brings. Thank You for loving me and for hearing my prayers, for I pray them in the Name of Your Son, Jesus.

Amen.
