President Trump Visits Church Burned in Riots

U.S. Park Police disperse violent demonstrators to adhere with D.C. mayor’s curfew.

President Trump pledged to mobilize military forces against looters across the nation on Monday. “We are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now,” the president said from the Rose Garden at the White House. “I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers.”

The president added that, while peaceful demonstrations should be allowed to continue, “Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled.”

At the time the president was speaking, the U.S. Park Police used smoke canisters to disperse a mob in Lafayette Park who were throwing bricks and frozen water bottles at the officers. The action was also taken in compliance with the city-wide curfew of 7pm declared by Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

After the press conference in the Rose Garden, President Trump walked across the street to St. John’s Church, which had been torched by riots the evening prior.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to lead President Trump to bring peace to our nation.
  • That God would lead Congress and the White House to work together to ensure laws are enforced equally.
  • That God would bring healing to the United States.
