Administration Announces Funding for Public Land Infrastructure

Departments of Interior and Agriculture to provide full funding for long-postponed maintenance.

The Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have announced $2.8 billion in funding for the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund. Some public land infrastructure and ecosystem restoration maintenance tasks have been indefinitely postponed due to a lack of funding. This investment will be made available in the 2024 fiscal year to meet the backlog of maintenance projects necessary to preserve America’s public lands for future generations.

“Every child in America deserves to have a safe and nearby place to experience the great outdoors,” said Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland. “Working together with state, local and Tribal governments, we are committed to advancing environmental justice and ensuring equitable access to nature and its benefits.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For department officials as they choose the sites for maintenance and restoration.
  • For Secretary Haaland to seek the Lord’s guidance as she leads the Interior Department.
  • For Director Sams as he oversees the National Park Service.
