Today, President Joe Biden is traveling to Vail, Colorado, to designate Camp Hale and the Tenmile Range as a national monument.

Located in the Rocky Mountains, within the White River National Forest, Camp Hale was used to train roughly 14,000 troops in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division for battles in the winter conditions of the European Alps during the Second World War.

Local leaders, veterans, and environmentalists have advocated for the monument designation. U.S. Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado and the state’s Governor Jared Polis are expected to attend the president’s announcement.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they determine the historic sites that they will memorialize.
  • For the president and state leaders as they commemorate the 10th Mountain Division’s training grounds.
  • For discernment for the president and his advisors as they address the issues facing the nation.
