President Joe Biden is continuing to isolate in the White House and will do so until he tests negative for COVID-19. Physician to the President Dr. Kevin O’Connor said that the president “is still experiencing an occasional cough, but less frequently than yesterday,” and added that the president has no other symptoms and is still “in good spirits”. President Biden will continue to conduct business virtually and with limited contact with White House staff.

Following the Senate’s vote to ratify the accession protocols for both Finland and Sweden to join NATO, President Biden said, “I thank the members of the Senate… for their leadership and for quickly advancing the ratification process.” He added, “I look forward to signing the accession protocols and welcoming Sweden and Finland, two strong democracies with highly capable militaries, into the greatest defensive alliance in history.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is taking part in the second day of ASEAN’s foreign ministers’ meeting. The Department of State said ahead of today’s events, “The secretary’s conversations will build upon the historic U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit hosted by President Biden in Washington, D.C., May 12-13, that demonstrated the United States’ enduring commitment to ASEAN, recognized ASEAN’s central role in delivering sustainable solutions to the region’s most pressing challenges, and commemorated 45 years of U.S.-ASEAN relations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For continued healing and recovery for President Biden.
  • For administration officials as they continue to work with NATO allies on the entry of Finland and Sweden.
  • For God to be at work through Secretary Blinken in order to foster the relationship between the U.S. and Southeast Asian partners
