DHS to Restart Border Barrier Projects

Funding appropriated under previous administration to be utilized.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the authorization of border wall project construction in California, Arizona, and Texas. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has received approval to advance projects in the San Diego, El Centro, Yuma, El Paso, and Rio Grande Valley Sectors funded by appropriations from 2017, 2018, and 2021 fiscal years.

While DHS continues to urge Congress to cancel future appropriations for construction on the border barrier, the department stated it is reviewing “other paused border barrier projects presenting life, safety, environmental, or other remediation needs and has begun environmental planning, to include planning consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), for not yet completed projects.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they address immigration and border security issues.
  • For Secretary Mayorkas to seek God’s direction as he heads the Homeland Security Department.
  • For Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Magnus as he oversees the restarting of border projects.
