Will be joined by other leaders to mark historic date.

The White House announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will be flying to Selma, Alabama, on Sunday to speak at the 57th anniversary of the first civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, known as Bloody Sunday. She will also meet with civil rights leaders at the event.

Vice President Harris will highlight the priority President Biden’s administration has placed on election and voter reforms. Other federal leaders, including Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Marcia Fudge, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, are expected to attend.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safety for administration officials traveling to the event on Sunday.
  • For the vice president to seek God’s wisdom as she addresses the anniversary event.
  • For discernment for U.S. governing officials regarding potential changes to voting laws.
