Today, President Joe Biden will take part in the Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House as the nation recognizes three U.S. soldiers who fought in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Two of the three will receive the award posthumously.

“President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., will award the Medal of Honor to Sergeant First Class Alwyn C. Cashe, United States Army, Sergeant First Class Christopher A. Celiz, United States Army, and Master Sergeant Earl D. Plumlee, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry,” said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

The press secretary added that each of these Army soldiers’ actions helped “distinguish themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of their own lives above and beyond the call of duty.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the legacy of the sacrifice of the soldiers who lost their lives to live on through their memory and through the ceremony today.
  • For God to continue to shower blessings upon Master Sergeant Earl D. Plumlee as he continues to serve today.
  • For the president to seek God’s wisdom as he carries out the duties of Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • For God’s hand of protection to be on all who serve in the armed forces today.
