Senate Confirms Four Ambassadors

New diplomats will represent the U.S. to Turkey, Austria, New Zealand, and the UN.

On Tuesday, the Senate confirmed four of the president’s nominees to the State Department by voice vote. Former Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona will become U.S. Ambassador to Turkey. Cindy McCain, widow of Senator John McCain, was approved as the U.S. representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture.

Former Senator Tom Udall of New Mexico was confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand.  Victoria Reggie Kennedy, widow of Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, becomes the U.S. ambassador to Austria.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the new ambassadors to seek God’s discernment as they represent the U.S.
  • For all diplomats in the State Department as international situations are addressed.
  • For the president to have wisdom in those he nominates.
