Pentagon Orders Swift Vaccines for Service Members

Says vaccine is necessary “to defend the American people.”

This week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered every member of the military to get their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The order that came from the leader of the pentagon requires top military leaders to get all troops under their control fully vaccinated as soon as possible. These actions come after the FDA announced that the Pfizer vaccine was fully approved.

The timeline for implementation was not given, however, regular reports will be ordered from the pentagon to continually update leadership on the program’s progress. The secretary’s memo stated, “To defend this Nation, we need a healthy and ready force. After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease… is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That Secretary Austin would seek the Lord’s wisdom as he leads the nation’s military.
  • For service members who may already have had the virus or who have health vulnerabilities.
  • For the Pentagon as they endeavor to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among the ranks.
