China Placed on Human Trafficking List

State Department report reviews four years of oppression.

The State Department placed China on a small list of nations whose governments engage in a “policy or pattern” of human trafficking, specifically noting the treatment of Uyghurs and other minorities. The report stated, the Chinese government “has carried out a mass detention and political indoctrination campaign” against Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic and religious minority groups over the past four years.

The State Department report further stated, “Detention in these camps is intended to erase ethnic and religious identities under the pretext of vocational training,” and “forced labor is a central tactic used for this repression.” It went on to detail how, in Xinjiang, detainees experience violence, abuse, and torture as well as forced labor in factories to produce a wide variety of goods and items that are being distributed by China throughout the world.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the U.S. and allied nations as responses to the human rights violations done by the Chinese government are considered.
  • For the State Department officials as they interact with foreign dignitaries from nations with humanitarian problems.
  • For the people who are suffering under the “re-education” by the Chinese Communist Party authorities.
