FCC Prepares Vote on Mobile Broadband Expansion in Alaska

The proposed $162 million would support underserved areas in the state.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed a $162 million investment in the Alaska Connect Fund to expand mobile broadband services statewide. The funding would target locations where building communications infrastructure is more expensive and expand services to underserved communities in Alaska. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has called for the FCC to vote on the proposal, as part of the commission’s larger Build America Agenda.

“Over the last decade, the FCC has worked alongside Alaska stakeholders to ensure that Alaskans receive the modern communications services they want and deserve. I have seen firsthand the challenges with ensuring connectivity in Alaska,“ Chairman Carr stated. “I look forward to partnering with all stakeholders to ensure we complete the job.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chairman Carr as he continues to advocate for broadband network expansion in Alaska.
  • For Senator Dan Sullivan as he promotes investments in Alaska’s infrastructure.
  • For members of the FCC to be discerning as they prepare to vote on the proposal.
