Geovany Andres Rojas is facing charges of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Narco-Terrorism, and will be facing court proceedings in the U.S.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced that a major Colombian drug cartel leader has been extradited to the United States. Geovany Andres Rojas, also known as “Araña,” was charged by a federal grand jury in California with International Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Narco-Terrorism last year. This was the result of a long-term investigation by the Homeland Security Task Force that revealed that the organization Comandos de la Frontera was profiting from the cultivation and production of cocaine in southwestern Colombia under Rojas’ leadership.
DEA Administrator Terry Cole stated that the extradition “demonstrates what the United States and Colombia can accomplish when we work together to dismantle the criminal networks that traffic deadly drugs, corrupt institutions, and threaten our communities.“
Administrator Cole added, “Geovany Andres Rojas faces narco-terrorism and drug trafficking charges for allegedly orchestrating multi-ton cocaine shipments bound for the United States. His extradition shows that borders, criminal influence, and efforts to conceal illegal activity will not prevent DEA and our partners from bringing major transnational traffickers to justice.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Administrator Cole as he leads the DEA in their efforts to prevent the trafficking of illegal drugs into the U.S.
- For U.S. Magistrate Judge Chu as he presides over the case against the cartel leader.
- For federal agents as they work with foreign governments and law enforcement to investigate and arrest organized crime leaders.
