Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio begins his travels to Reykjavík, Iceland; Athens, Greece; and Lisbon, Portugal.
State Department Spokesman Tommy Pigott said, “Secretary Rubio will meet with Icelandic officials in Reykjavík to discuss economic and security collaboration.“
Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir highlighted the importance of defense cooperation, Arctic Security, and trade negotiations with the United States. She invited Secretary Rubio to Iceland during a meeting in New York last month.
