Jeanine Pirro
Attorney General
Jeanine Ferris Pirro was born in June 1951 in Elmira, New York. She interned at a district attorney’s office during high school, then earned an undergraduate degree from the University at Buffalo and earned a Juris Doctor from Albany Law School.
Pirro began her law career as an assistant district attorney for Westchester County. She became the first chief of the new Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Bureau in the district attorney’s office. She withdrew from a nomination as candidate for Lt. Governor of New York in 1986. Pirro was elected judge of the Westchester County Court in 1990. She won election for Westchester County District Attorney three years later and was reelected twice. Pirro became a regular contributor on network and cable news and became the president of the New York State District Attorneys Association.
Pirro ran unsuccessfully for a U.S. Senate seat in 2005 and for state attorney general in 2006.
President Trump nominated Pirro for U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia in May 2025. She was sworn into office as interim, then confirmed by the Senate in August.
Pirro is divorced from Albert, with whom she has two children. She is Catholic.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro recently signed an international cooperation memorandum with British Crown Prosecution Service Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Parkinson and National Crime Agency Director General Graeme Biggar to increase law enforcement against Chinese cyber investment fraud and cryptocurrency scams.
“The United Kingdom is one of our oldest allies and partners,” U.S. Attorney Pirro stated. “Together we will disable the Chinese TOC networks that are operating these scam compounds and depriving our citizens of their hard-earned funds, all while using human-trafficked labor to increase their profit. Standing together, we are invincible.“
Pirro established the Justice Department’s Scam Center Strike Force in November of 2025.
“If Chinese organized crime can buy a custom website and a money laundering service the way you order takeout, then every American with a retirement account is in the blast radius,” U.S. Attorney Pirro said. “My Strike Force will continue to dismantle Chinese organized crime, those who facilitate it, and protect Main Street America.“
The strike force announced this week that they seized Telegram channels and cryptocurrency wallets tied to Xinbi Guarantee, a Chinese-language marketplace that linked users with scam centers targeting Americans.
