President Trump Responds to August Employment Numbers

He also addressed the Stock Market, which went down after the strong employment numbers were announced.

President Donald Trump responded to the August jobs numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday. He stated that the employment numbers, showing 162,000 nonfarm jobs added last month, broke all estimates. The president also called for lower interest rates.

The president stated that the U.S. “should have the LOWEST RATE of any country in the World” and that he would consider halting trade with countries with which the U.S. has a deficit. He highlighted that the Supreme Court had “strongly acknowledged” the president’s right to do so.

President Trump also addressed the stock market drop after the job numbers report. He stated that it happened because of a fear of inflation. But, he said, “GROWTH DOES NOT CAUSE INFLATION!” The president stressed the importance of interest rate costs and the impact on the gross domestic product (GDP).

He explained, “Every point in the Interest Rate costs the U.S. 650 Billion Dollars a year.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Commissioner Brett Matsumoto as he heads the Bureau of Labor Statistics and its analysis of employment data.
  • For President Trump as he promotes a lower interest rate and pursues action to strengthen the nation’s financial position.
