House Leader Reports Senator McConnell’s Coming Return to Washington

Congressman Comer said that the Kentucky senator is set to come back to Capitol Hill September 14.

Representative James Comer of Kentucky, chair of the House Oversight Committee, reported that Senator Mitch McConnell is expected to return to Washington, D.C., when the Senate returns from recess.

Senator McConnell has been absent from the upper congressional chamber since his hospitalization for a fall and pneumonia in mid-June. His office relayed updates in mid-July regarding his rehabilitation and in early August that he had returned to his home in Kentucky from rehab.

Congressman Comer said, “I have not talked to Leader McConnell. I’ve talked to his staff, many of whom are from my district originally. And they have all said it’s their goal for Senator McConnell to be here when the Senate comes in.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Comer as he presides over the House Oversight Committee.
  • For Senator McConnell to recover his health and be capable of serving in the Senate when it returns from recess.
