House of Representatives Denounces Socialism

The resolution received slight bipartisan support.

The House of Representatives adopted a resolution on Tuesday that denounced “socialism in all its forms.” The measure, introduced by Representative Jeff Crank of Colorado, also advocated for the SAVE America Act to require voter identification, which diminished its bipartisan support.

“The DSA candidate platform stands in direct contrast to our republic,” Congressman Crank stated ahead of the vote. “Getting rid of the United States Senate, open borders, defunding the police, allowing non-citizens to vote in federal elections — those aren’t consistent with our Constitution.“

Representative August Pfluger of Texas said, “Socialism has failed everywhere it’s been tried without exception. It’s a dangerous ideology that creates misery for the very people it claims to help.“

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib of Michigan said, “Corporate greed is hurting Americans, not democratic socialists, who are fighting for universal healthcare, child care and clean water.”

Representative Mark Pocan of Wisconsin stated the resolution “completely ignores the reality of [what] Americans are worried about today.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of Congress as they consider and vote on resolutions and legislation.
  • For representatives to be discerning as they advance bills to address election integrity and security.
