The GSA administrator warned that the government will catch bad actors who are stealing.
The General Services Administration (GSA) announced last week that it discovered over $13 billion in suspected fraud by federal contractors since March of this year. This discovery was made as part of the ongoing work by the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud headed by Vice President JD Vance. A significant amount of the $13 billion was from acts of procurement fraud, and some cases also used smaller businesses as conduits to obtain funds.
GSA Administrator Edward Frost stated, “Let this serve as a warning to any bad actors thinking of stealing from the federal government: we will catch you, and we will work with law enforcement to ensure your arrest, and we will do everything in our power to help recover every dollar you stole.”
President Trump has praised Vice President Vance’s work in uncovering different fraudulent uses of federal funds, calling him the “fraud czar.” To date, the task force has identified approximately $250 billion in public funds fraud.
