The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) temporary emergency waivers to increase the nation’s gasoline supply and help lower prices take effect today.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin issued the waivers last month in consultation with the Department of Energy under the Clean Air Act (CAA). The administrator said, “President Trump has prioritized ensuring American families have affordable gasoline and energy. Throughout this administration, EPA has taken decisive action like issuing [Reid Vapor Pressure] waivers to provide relief at the pump and fortify our gasoline supply chain.“
