President Donald Trump warned the leaders of Oman against obstructing a potential deal between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz. He said the U.S. would bomb Oman if they “get in the way.”
Oman has had negotiators discussing reopening the strait with the Islamic Republic. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Iran and Oman had agreed to a map of the transit route in the international waterway.
The U.S. two-month timeline set under June’s memorandum of understanding for negotiating peace with Iran ended Monday. President Trump stated he is “in no hurry” to finalize a deal. He said, “I have no time schedule.”
President Trump reiterated, “The number one Goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape, or form, a Nuclear Weapon.”
