Vice President to Lead Virus Task Force

HHS Secretary to testify before Congress

On Wednesday, President Trump named Vice President Mike Pence to head the administration’s coronavirus task force. The vice president said, “My role will be to continue to bring together the best options for action.” Part of those responsibilities will be working with Congress, according to the president.

President Trump reiterated that the number one priority “is the health and safety of the American people. We are ready to adapt and we’re ready to do whatever we have to, as the disease spreads, if it spreads.”

The president also spoke with President Xi of China and, despite their lack of transparency at the outset of the virus, President Trump said he is confident they are working to solve the crisis.

On Thursday, Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar is testifying before Congress on the virus and what is being done to suppress it in the U.S.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has named the virus COVID-19.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That national officials will be able to keep a check on COVID-19 in the U.S.
  • For Vice President Mike Pence as he leads the task force to assure America’s best response to the virus.
  • For Secretary Azar appearing before Congress to deal with their questions about the spread of COVID-19.
