Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1
How well acquainted are you with God? You are certainly aware that He exists, and you recognize some of His attributes, and have doubtless experienced His provision. But are you truly acquainted? The Collins English Dictionary says that to be acquainted with someone is to have a personal knowledge as a result of study, experience, and direct information, and likely be in social contact. In other words, you have a relationship. Some claim a relationship with God based on ceremony or formality, but have little fellowship with Him on a personal level.
Knowing the Savior means that you recognize it is HIS righteousness, not yours, that brings you peace. Your faith in Him is the part you play in this relationship. The closer you are to the Lord, the more you rely on His guidance, His truth, and His love, which all lead to peace with God.
Do you have personal experience of His mercy, His love, and His faithfulness in your life? Are you regularly conversing with God? He is the answer to the problems you face. You can deepen your relationship with the Lord through study, praise, thanksgiving, and prayer. Learn, listen, and obey, and you will receive His peace.
Pray for U.S. governing officials to seek true peace through Christ Jesus, who loves them. Those who seek the Lord will surely find Him.
