President Trump Announces Next Peace Talks in Qatar

Officials are scheduled to meet in Doha after the Iranian regime’s repeated violations of 60-day agreement.

President Donald Trump said that the leadership of Iran requested a meeting in Doha, Qatar, for Tuesday. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are set to discuss next steps after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) violated the current agreement and escalated by attacking U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain.

U.S. Central Command responded by striking IRGC drone warehouses, surveillance infrastructure, and air defense sites.

The IRGC has not accepted the two main requirements from the United States to which Iranian politicians have agreed. The main U.S. concerns are the free passage of commerce through the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s submission to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections.

The White House confirmed that vessels are clear to transit the Strait of Hormuz and that “technical talks are slated to continue” after the U.S. responded to violations of the ceasefire by Iran.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to seek the Lord’s wisdom in his actions and decisions in the Middle East.
  • For discernment for U.S. officials as they discuss the requirements of the agreement with Iran.
  • For the people of Iran as they face food supply shortages and economic hardship.
