The Great American State Fair on the Washington Mall is continuing the America 250 Celebration through July 10th. Today’s theme is Heritage and Legacy.
The exposition and modern-day World’s Fair, which President Trump kicked off with a rally on June 24th, is celebrating the people, traditions, innovations, and spirit that have built the United States and made it unique. The fair features a 110-foot Ferris wheel and daily rodeo performances. There are over 150 exhibits in pavilions from all 50 states and 6 territories, as well as showcases by businesses, innovators, and civic organizations.
President Trump also announced the reopening of Freedom Plaza, featuring the Spirit of ’76 exhibit honoring Revolutionary War “heroes and martyrs.” The president said, “The Exhibition is anchored by a central bronze statue, ‘Spirit of Liberty,’ which is crowned in a wreath of victory, and powerfully wielding the Declaration of Independence and a sword pointed to the sky.”
